Verde Canyon Railroad is the perfect setting for a memorable and lovely wedding. Since we host many each year, working with our staff is stress-free.

We suggest that you secure an entire car for your wedding party to insure your privacy. Smaller wedding parties may consider reserving the luxury-class caboose, which seats up to six; however there is not a group rate for the caboose.

We can make a brief stop about 30 minutes from the depot on a scenic overlook where many couples choose to exchange their vows on the adjoining open-air viewing car. Other couples have exchanged vows at Perkinsville Ranch, the turnaround point of the trip; onboard the train at the depot prior to departure or during the route while the train is in motion. We let you decide when the perfect moment is for your union.

Special amenities for wedding groups

Group discount rates

For parties of 20 or more, when reservation and payment is coordinated by one individual, we extend a 10% discount. We also award your group with one complimentary seat per each 20 paid. Twenty-five percent (25%) of the group booking is due sixty (60) days prior to departure date. The balance is due two weeks prior to departure date. In the event the departure date is less than 30 days from the date of reservation, the total is due upon receipt of billing.

Special seating for groups

Your wedding party will be seated together, and in the event you have not booked an entire car, we will make every effort to tailor your seating to insure maximum exclusivity for your group.

Chartering private car

The Verde Canyon Railroad features 10 passenger cars, each of varying capacity with seating ranging from 24 to 40 in first-class, and up to 74 per car in coach-class. A private open-air viewing car is included when two cars are booked for one party.

Chartering the entire train

The entire train, first-class cars only or coach-class only may be chartered.*

When the entire train is chartered, departure date and time may vary from our regularly scheduled service Also with an entire train charter, passage includes first-class-style appetizers throughout the train.

Greetings at the depot

Your wedding guests will be greeted at the depot and pre-boarded before others.

Decorations

Representatives from your group may access your reserved car up to one hour prior to departure for decorating. Flowers, table top displays and garlands are allowed. Paper products on open-air cars, candles, open flames, Silly String, rice and confetti are not permitted.

Changing area available

There is a small, private area at the depot available to the bridal party for dressing and sprucing prior to boarding. Please ask the group coordinator for details.

Special menu options

The Verde Canyon Railroad can provide full service catering for your event, with a price range to suit every budget. Menus are tailored to your specific requests. Note: A special on-board luncheon requires your group to have exclusive use of at least one train car.

No outside catering is permitted, with the exception of bakery-delivered wedding cakes.

Drink options

Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage service is available for your party.

Your group may host an open bar, with a tab to be finalized at the end of the ride, or you may limit your guests to specific selections (i.e., beer and wine, or soft drinks only). Drink tickets also may be pre-purchased. If you have special requests for particular wines or brands, please let us know and we will do our best to stock them for your group.

Champagne toast after ceremony

Upon your direction, our train attendants will prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic Champagne glasses for a wedding toast.

Music/Entertainment

We welcome your acoustic musicians and/or DJs, but we suggest a visit to the chartered train car prior to signing a contract to review space and voltage. The trip narration in each car may be turned off. The caboose has a state-of-the-art sound system, and guests are welcome to bring their own CDs to create their own sound track. With advance notice, the Verde Canyon Railroad is happy to make recommendations or secure entertainment. Please ask us about rates for outside musicians.
